Eight years ago today, the Lord blessed us with one special little girl (correction...she was really a big girl weighing in at 8lbs. 13 oz.). What a precious day that was to welcome another child into our family. We didn't know if this new baby would be a boy or a girl and we were quite excited to find out! I remember we weren't sure for another boy's name and we were discussing it back and forth while I labored. This time around, the process was sooo much easier than with Jakers, so it was light-hearted joking happening when someone mentioned Lester. Well, the first thing I recall when baby was being born was my mom exclaiming, "It's got chubby cheeks!" Shortly thereafter, the doctor chimes in, saying, "It's a Lesterette!" And this is how I received the joyful news that I had a daughter.
Lydia, you captured our hearts from the beginning and it has been a wonderful eight years since that day, March 10, 2003. There is so much that I love about you, Lid. You are a loving and caring child and you were nicknamed, "So Sweet Lid," at a young age. You aren't afraid of a challenge and you aren't afraid to fail at something and try again. You have a passion for the things you love...reading, writing your own stories, your friends, and I can't forget your sense of fashion. Even as a toddler, you loved your "pretty-pretties!" I believe I will be taking lessons from you soon.
Lydia, my prayer for you is that you will grow to become a woman who continues to love the Lord and serve Him. That you take that passion you have shown us and use it for the Lord's Glory. He loves you so much more than I/we ever could and it is exciting to think about what God has planned for your life.
