Gettin' All Grown Up

(GO COLTS!)

Here we are...another set of "first day of school" shots (a couple weeks late). Time is going by so fast...hard to believe I have a 4th grader and a 3rd grader! Jake was partially excited to start school; Lydia was very excited. She had her matching purple outfit, Twinkle Toes (which I got for a steal at Marshall's), and book bag (purple, of course) all laid out and ready to go the night before. Jake was happy in his T-shirt, shoes, and Colt's book bag Grandma Kanost bought him.

Two weeks have already passed and they are doing great. Jake already had his first field trip, with mom in tow. We went to the New Boston Fair last Friday. It was H-O-T walking around in 100 degree weather with my 5 boys I was in charge of. But we had a good time.

Lydia is happy to have the opportunity to go to a different school each week on Wednesdays. Last week on her first day, I asked her how it went. Her response sums up her priorities..."I met three new friends!" Reminds me of last night - we took the kids to the county fair and about half way through our time there, she met a girl named Makayla and they quickly became friends. They rode everything together and we exchanged numbers when it was time to go. She is quite the social butterfly.

Lydia and Jake both decided to run for student council this year - a first for both of them. This past Labor Day weekend was spent working on posters for them to hang up. There are quite a few kids running in their classes, but it is a fun experience, no matter the outcome.

Pics of Claire's first day of preschool last week to come next!
